SGC

The SHS SGC in an independent body of parents, teachers, administrators, community members, and students who meet once a month to discuss issues related to improving student achievement and the overall success of the SHS community. The SHS SGC serves in an advisory capacity and is charged with assisting the school administration in making programmatic and operational changes to improve the school’s culture and achievement.

Priorities of the council include school safety, communication, beautification of the grounds, social/emotional wellness, and college and career readiness. Some of our past efforts include working to oversee the receipt and implementation of a capital bond to improve the courtyard and classrooms, assisting the administration in establishing a monthly Dean’s Desk newsletter, the reinstatement of Honor Roll recognition and co-sponsoring mock-interview events.
