NEWSLETTER 9/10/21

Hello SHS Students and Families!

Another great (albeit short) week for our SHS students and staff! Students seem to be settling in nicely, sports and activities have begun, and our classrooms are producing some great experiences for our students!

I have a few announcements for you this week, so please take note so that you have all of the information you need for your student and family.

  1. Vaccination Clinic at SHS (Flyers and Consent Forms attached)

A free vaccination clinic is coming to our school community to make the COVID-19 vaccines more accessible to students, families, and staff.

Please bring a health insurance card and photo ID if you have them, but it is not necessary to have health insurance or ID to receive the vaccine. No one will be turned away for lack of insurance or ID.

All students under the age of 18 must present a signed parent/guardian consent form, and do NOT need a family member present.

If you have any additional questions, please email us at spsreopening@stamfordct.gov

Once the request has been made, counselors will try their best to accommodate the course change request. Counselors will be in contact with students via SPS Gmail to let them know when any change has been made. Please give counselors up to 48 hours to make any possible changes. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out your counselor via email.

3. Open School Night (SPS Communication)

Open School Night for our High School families it is scheduled for Thursday, September 23. Traditionally, Open School Nights draw large crowds of parents to our schools. Due to concerns regarding the ability to maintain social distancing and mask requirements during these events, the decision has been made to hold Open School Nights virtually.

I will be in touch, as we get closer with the process to access our Open School Night.

Have a GREAT weekend with your families! I look forward to seeing you all next week.

Sincerely,

Matt Forker (’92)

Principal
