SHS’ MUSICIAN ISABEL MEJIA FEATURED
Stamford High School student, Isabel Mejia (11), was recently featured in Stamford City Lifestyle Magazine in an article titled “More Than Music.”
The article highlights Isabel’s experience and the impact that music and Project Music have had on her journey.
Project Music is an intensive Stamford, Connecticut after-school program that uses music education based on the El Sistema framework to drive youth development and social change. Operating four days a week, the initiative offers students immersive musical instruction, performance opportunities, and mentorship from teaching artists. Beyond learning instruments, the program focuses on fostering personal growth, confidence, discipline, and leadership skills, helping build a strong sense of community and empowering young people to achieve long-term success.
Congratulations to Isabel on her musical growth and accomplishments.
