Mr. Matthew Forker, Principal
CLASS OF ’26 PREPARING FOR NEXT CHAPTER
This week, the SHS senior class met with the school counseling department for an essential session on post-secondary options, with a specific focus on the financial realities of college for both students and their families.
The valuable discussion introduced students to a range of financial aid terms, including:
Grants (such as the Pell Grant)
Student Loans (both subsidized and unsubsidized)
Work Study
Scholarships (merit-based and Stamford-specific)
Counselors also provided clarity on the true cost of education, detailing indirect costs like transportation, food, supplies, and explaining how all these factors add up.
This vital conversation informs all students planning to pursue post-secondary education.
SHS thanks both Ms. Vazquez and Mrs. Forlenzo-Legutko for sharing their expertise and providing such a depth of knowledge to our students.

THIS WEEK’S UPDATE
Here are some quick updates and reminders for the academic week ending September 26, 2025. Links have been provided, where applicable, to help with further details. Have a great weekend with your families!
SHS ANNUAL “PINK OUT” RETURNS!
The Stamford High School Pink Out is our highly anticipated and impactful event each fall. So far, SHS, through the sale of T-shirts, sweatshirts, and donations has raised and donated over $120,000, with the Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital as our main beneficiary. This initiative truly showcases our community's spirit of supporting one another and certainly a highlight of the fall!
If you're new to this event, here's how it works: We sell T-shirts, long sleeves, and hoodies with a winning student-designed logo. The proceeds are then donated directly to the Bennett Cancer Center.
(THE SHIRTS ARE IN!)
This organization has provided exceptional care to many members of our community, including our students and the beloved Curt Tinnin.
Last year, we were proud to donate over $8,000, and we're aiming to match OR EXCEED that amount this year.
Get Ready to Pink Out!
Pink Out Week will be the week of October 6th, which includes home athletic events, special events, and ending with a home football game against Fairfield Warde High School on Saturday, October 11th.
You can now pre-order your Pink Out gear with this year's design by clicking the link below. When you check out, there's an option to donate a shirt to a student who might not be able to afford one. This small gesture can make a big difference.
