STAMFORD UNIFIED ATHLETES READY FOR BIG WEEK AHEAD!

Fist Bumps, Smiles & High Fives - SHS Unified Is Ready!

Fist bumps, smiles, and high fives filled the gym at Unified Sports practice this week! The team has been working hard to prepare for next week's matchups against Darien and New Canaan, and they looked great trying on their new jerseys!

Come cheer them on at Darien High School this Wednesday, December 17th at 3:00 PM.  Don't miss out – this team is ready for another standout season!

“VAPA” DEPARTMENT RECIEVES GRANT

The Visual and Performing Arts Department is excited to announce that the State of Connecticut Office of the Arts has been awarded a $2,500 Grant so that Visual Art students can take a field trip to an Art Museum here in the state. 

“Every Child Art Experience Grant” awards qualifying schools’ money to expose students to arts-based activities developing healthy, engaged and creative students. 

SHS is planning to take a trip to the New Britain Museum of American Art or Yale University Art Gallery later this winter.  During the trip, students will be researching and learning about new visual artists that can inspire their own work. 

We are happy to report this is the second time in the last two years that we have received this award.  Here are a few photos from our last trip to Yale Art Gallery in fall of 2024.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

The College and Career Center hosted a CT State Community Application Day to assist students in completing their application. More than 70 percent of students that are applying to CT State Community have completed their application!

• Our Financial Aid Completion Raffle continues through December! Complete your FAFSA or AACTUS to be included in the December raffle!

• Interested in a certification and joining the workforce? Career Hub will be presenting on December 16 at 10 AM in the College and Career Center! Don't miss out on this!

• Seniors- have you applied to your post-secondary plan?? If so, we want to celebrate with you! Confirm your application submission with your counselor then come to the College and Career Center on Dec 18th during your lunch wave for a celebration 

• Albertus Magnus Instant Decision Day- January 14, 2026- Applied to Albertus Magnus or planning on? Register on Naviance for Instant Decision Day- have your acceptance decision on the spot!

SHS “U-KNIGHTED NATION” TUTORING

If any student needs extra academic support throughout the school year, the SHS U-Knighted Nation organization is here to assist!  Made up of student volunteers, the UKN tutors are available to assist and help ANY student that may need it.
