PLAYOFF HYPE!
FALL SPORTS HEAD INTO POSTSEASON!
Our Fall 2025 sports season is ending on a high note, with an incredible lineup of teams heading to the postseason!
We have teams qualified for the CIAC playoffs (Boys/Girls Soccer, Field Hockey, Volleyball, Swimming/Diving, Cross Country) and the FCIAC playoffs (Boys Soccer, Swimming/Diving, Cross Country)!
Join us in our continued celebration of our seniors—we recently honored both Boys and Girls Soccer and will celebrate Volleyball and Field Hockey next week.
First Up: Boys Soccer FCIAC Quarterfinals
The postseason quest kicks off THIS Monday as Boys Soccer begins its run for an FCIAC championship!
When: Monday at 3:30 PM

FCIAC RECOGNIZES TWO EXEMPLARY SCHOLAR ATHLETES

ELLA PEARLE
Ella is a member of the IB Diploma Program with a 4.98 GPA and is ranked No. 11 in her class. She is the Social Media Coordinator for National Honor Society as well as a member of the Science National Honor Society. Ella leads three varsity sports as a four-year member of the soccer team, co-captain of the ice hockey team, and she also plays lacrosse. She earned All-FCIAC Second Team in her junior year and All-FCIAC Honorable Mention both her sophomore and freshman year for ice hockey.
Ella is involved in numerous student clubs as vice president of Student Council and an ambassador for Morgan’s Message. In addition, she works with special education students as a member of both Unified Sports and Friendly Faces. She has also been a part of the Cancer Awareness Club for four years and volunteers at Junior Recreation Girls Soccer.
CAL GILLIN
Cal is a senior with an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and a weighted GPA of 5.06 in the rigorous IB Diploma Programme at Stamford High School. He is currently a cross-country captain and has been a team member for three years. Cal is also a four-year outdoor track and field athlete who runs distance races. He has also completed a half marathon during his time in high school. Cal has additional leadership roles as a captain of the Stamford High School Debate Team and treasurer of National Honor Society.
He volunteers frequently in the clothing donation center at Person to Person in Darien and participates actively as a volunteer at school events through student council. He is the recipient of the Columbia Book Award. In addition, Cal has qualified for the state debate tournament for the last two years.
Cal recently completed a summer internship at a private equity firm and intends to study business as a finance major.

As the soccer season comes to an end, we would like to recognize all the seniors on the Girls Varsity Soccer team, the Girls varsity, and JV soccer teams.

CLASS OF THE WEEK
Students in Mrs. Buchanan’s Photo 1 class were tasked with designing a creepy creature photoshoot.
Students used the photography rooms studio lighting, and their camera’s manual settings, and editing in Adobe Express to capture their shots.

The College and Career Center hosted a Common App bootcamp to assist seniors in all phases of their college application process. Seniors were offered 1:1 assistance in completing their Common App and next steps.

All students in AP classes need to join their AP classroom and pay for their AP exam by November 1, 2025 without a late fee.

Black Knight Athletics is proud to host renowned college recruiting expert Wayne Mazzoni (a popular speaker who has presented here before). Mr. Mazzoni is known for providing an honest and informative look at the realities of college recruiting and athletics.

FREE MAMMOGRAMS
Mammograms play a key role in breast cancer screening. Getting a mammogram every year, starting at age 40, is recommended by the American Cancer Society.
The Breast Center Grant Program offers screening mammograms and other breast imaging services at no cost to patients who are uninsured and who qualify to enroll in the program.
Call or go online to book your mammogram. Notify the scheduler that you are interested in the Breast Center Grant Program.

If any student needs extra academic support throughout the school year, the SHS U-Knighted Nation organization is here to assist! Made up of student volunteers, the UKN tutors are available to assist and help ANY student that may need it.

Please remember to submit any student absences to the Absence Documentation Form within 10 school days of the absence.
Appropriate documentation (parent note, doctor's note, official paperwork) must be provided for the absence to be approved.
